Solutions Consultant (MSP)
Glasgow – Hybrid
Competitive, c£65-75k DOE
About the Company
We're partnered with a well-established Managed Service Provider who have built a reputation for dependable infrastructure, cloud, security and connectivity delivery, underpinned by a disciplined, standards-led approach. Now they're investing in an in-house project capability, and this role sits right at the heart of that growth.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, client-facing consulting role at the sharp end of the business. You'll sit with clients, understand what they're really trying to achieve, and shape that into a designed, priced project the team can deliver, then stay close to the work so what lands matches what was promised.
It suits someone with genuine technical delivery experience who has since moved into consultancy without losing that grounding: credible in front of a business owner one minute, holding your own in a detailed design conversation with engineers the next. Where a project needs senior technical input, you'll roll your sleeves up rather than hand it off. There's a clear progression path on offer too, as the business's Customer Success framework matures.
Please note:
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
- We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
- Hybrid working from Glasgow
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead technical conversations with client stakeholders and decision-makers, translating business requirements into a technical direction they understand and buy into.
- Present options, trade-offs and costs with confidence to non-technical audiences, acting as a trusted advisor at the point of decision.
- Turn technology alignment findings and client goals into designed solutions, working with project engineers on detailed scope and pricing.
- Provide accurate effort and cost input so proposals are priced to protect margin.
- Provide senior technical oversight from handover through to delivery and closure, working hands-on wherever a project calls for senior input.
- Hold the client narrative through delivery, making sure what's delivered matches what was sold, and raise scope, risk or change with the project team early.
- Build and maintain a forward technology view for your client base, briefing and debriefing the engineers who carry out regular technology alignment audits.
- Develop and grow a vCIO function for named clients as the Customer Success framework matures, shaping standards, client-facing materials and QBR processes.
- Support the sales team with technical credibility on new/existing client opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- A technical delivery background; infrastructure, cloud or networking, thereafter, followed by a move into a consulting or solution design role.
- Proven experience designing and scoping IT projects for SMB clients, including writing proposals and statements of work.
- Broad, current knowledge across Microsoft cloud, on-premises infrastructure, virtualisation, networking and security, sufficient to hold a design conversation and challenge a scope.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present technical options in plain language to business owners and directors.
- Strong commercial skills, understanding how scope, effort, price connect to margin.
- Comfortable getting hands-on where a project needs it, rather than purely advisory.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
Useful, but not essential:
- Experience within an MSP or IT services environment.
- Familiarity with TruMethods or a similar structured MSP service delivery framework. (HTG, ConnectWise, Kaseya, UBR, MSP peer group, IT Nation Evolve, CompTIA MSP)
- Experience with Autotask, HubSpot or similar PSA and CRM platforms.
- Experience building multi-year technology roadmaps and budgets for SME clients.
- Vendor certification across Microsoft, VMware or a major firewall vendor.
Why This Role?
- A senior seat with real influence over what gets sold and how it gets delivered. This isn't a hands-off advisory role, and it isn't a delivery seat either; you'll be in the detail, close to the outcome, and your judgement will carry weight.
- No sales quota or commission attached to this role. New business targets sit with the sales team, and you bring the technical credibility that helps win the work.
- A clear structure, defined measures, so you know exactly what success looks like.
- A genuine, defined progression path towards vCIO seat as Success framework matures.
- Investment in your ongoing certification and technical development.
Package
- Salary: c£65-75k dependent on experience
- Location: Scotland, (Glasgow – hybrid) with client-facing travel
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
- Additional benefits: confirmed at offer stage

We require a Senior Back End Developer to join a project to rebuild a long standing on-prem system as a cloud-native application on Azure.
Stack
- Kotlin and Java 21 on Spring Boot. Kotlin preferred, strong Java engineers welcome if open to writing Kotlin.
- Azure
- PostgreSQL on the new side, SQL Server on the old, change data capture between them
- Managed message bus, event-driven throughout
The role
- Most senior backend person on a small team.
- You decide how the services are shaped and what everyone builds to.
- You work out how each area moves across from the old system without anyone noticing.
- Day to day you're alongside engineers who know the old system inside out.
What you'll need
- Proven capability with AI-assisted delivery. The vast majority of the code here is agent-written, so you need real experience of building this way and the seniority to direct it, review it properly and push back when it's wrong
- Substantial backend experience
- Real depth on the JVM with Spring Boot - Kotlin ideal, but strong Java with appetite to work in Kotlin works.
- Domain-driven design and messaging patterns
- PostgreSQL
- Kafka, Service Bus or Pub/Sub
- Shipped to a public cloud, Azure ideally
We're hiring for a growing engineering business modernising its core platform on Azure, with AI central to daily delivery. They need a Platform Engineer to run that cloud environment day to day: dependable, properly governed, and set up so engineers and AI agents can ship changes with confidence.
What you'll be doing:
- Shape the platform architecture: container orchestration, managed database services, the messaging layer.
- Own the path from commit to production: pipelines, release automation, rollback.
- Handle network design, identity management and access governance for the platform.
- Keep the platform observable: tracing, logging, alerting, the works.
- Bridge cloud and on-premise systems through a phased migration.
- Set the guardrails for AI-generated infrastructure changes.
What we're looking for:
- Hands-on, current experience in production Azure (AKS or Container Apps, managed Postgres, Service Bus or Event Hubs).
- Fluent in Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure as code.
- Built and run CI/CD pipelines, ideally on Azure DevOps, that hold up under real load.
- Confident across cloud networking, identity and access governance.
- Treat observability as core engineering work
- Comfortable directing AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as a daily working habit.
- Bonus: hybrid on-premise exposure, or a SaaS/product engineering background.
Project Engineer
Our client, a growing Managed Service Provider, is looking for a Project Engineer to own customer projects end to end - from scoped handover through to completion or transition into support.
This is an individual-ownership role, not a staged lead/senior/junior structure. You'll receive your own project queue and see each one through from start to finish - onboarding customers off their existing provider, delivering new services, or completing in-flight projects - with support from colleagues when you need it, not a hierarchy doing it for you.
What you'll be doing
- Take full ownership of customer projects once sales, licensing, and scoping are complete - through to delivery or handover to support
- Onboard customers moving from an incumbent provider, and deliver new services from scratch
- Lead Microsoft 365 migrations - SharePoint, mail, and server migrations in particular - plus M365 administration and tenant configuration
- Deliver infrastructure, cloud, and networking work - installs, upgrades, migrations, configuration
- Configure and troubleshoot networking (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching, Wi-Fi)
- Support telecoms/VoIP work (Gamma Horizon, Giacom, SIP, call routing)
- Run IT audits and give clients clear, practical recommendations
- Lead customer-facing sessions - audits, onboarding, discovery workshops, go-lives
- Produce solid documentation: implementation plans, configuration records, completion reports
What we're looking for
- Proven experience personally owning projects start to finish - not just supporting or assisting on portions of someone else's
- Real, hands-on experience with SharePoint, mail platform, and server migrations - not just exposure to them
- Microsoft 365 administration experience: tenant configuration, Defender, and the M365 portal more broadly -MS-102-level knowledge is a strong signal of this, though the cert itself isn't mandatory if the practical experience is there
- MSP background preferred (ideally exposure to multiple customer environments), but strong internal-IT candidates will be considered if they've independently delivered comparable migrations or implementations
- Comfortable being the technical face of a project in front of customers
Nice to have (not essential)
- MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, MD-102, AZ-900
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+
