You’ll be working closely with a team of industry tech professionals solving real-world challenges through IoT technology.
As an IoT Engineer, you’ll lead projects from design to deployment, working on custom hardware/software systems for rural and remote applications. You’ll develop connectivity networks, create off-grid power solutions, and support installations on farms.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- Experience in IoT, electronics, or embedded systems.
- Experience designing and implementing off-grid power systems, including solar and hybrid setups.
- Knowledge of IoT technologies (such as LoRaWAN, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, 4G, CAT-M1, NBIoT) and front-end platforms.
- Working knowledge of MQTT, Webhooks, REST API’s, Modbus etc and cloud platforms
- Bonus: Programming skills (Python, C++, JavaScript), experience in rural or off-grid deployments

Be-IT are delighted to be partnering with a leading provider of managed hybrid cloud services in Scotland.
They are seeking a recent graduate, passionate about all things IT to work across various verticals in their IT Operations team – you will work across SecOps, Datacentre & Service Operations. This role will be based in Aberdeen 5 days per week on site – you must be within 1 hours commuting distance to the office and have access to your own car.
The Role:
The Service Operations Technician position is part of the Technical Operations department and reports to the Head of Service Delivery. The role demands a flexible and proactive mindset and provides ample opportunities for on-the-job learning, as well as the enhancement of technical skills through training, study, and certification.
The day to day:
- Monitoring, logging, categorising, prioritising and responding to events from our customers’ cloud, security and network services.
- Help to maintain and ensure the quality of all documentation and processes relating to the support role, including capturing new learning and sharing this knowledge with the team.
- Conduct system installations, upgrades, and maintenance procedures to mitigate the risk of service outages.
- Act as the primary contact for customers visiting our Data Centres, providing support and guidance to facilitate a seamless on-site experience.
- Deploy company and customer equipment within the Data Centre, as required, and ensure its functionality.
- Complete tasks relating to physical network connectivity, including ethernet and optical cable runs.
- Write and update technical documentation, asset management and knowledgebase articles.
- Maintain/develop good working relationships with both internal and external customers to improve service delivery.
- Serve as our 24/7 on-call support function, adhering to established escalation protocols to ensure that critical alerts are directed to the appropriate team without delay.
- Perform daily health checks of the Data Centre, ensuring that results, including any issues, are documented and reported promptly.
