Herald Digital Transformation Awards 2022

Next Thursday, 25th August, will see several members of the Be-IT team donning their glad-rags and making tracks for the Radisson Blu Hotel, where the second, annual Herald Digital Transformation Awards will be handed out to a wide range of worthy winners. And the reason we know they are worthy winners is because Be-IT’s Client Director, Christina Hall, was one of the judges. This was the first time Christina has been involved in judging an awards’ event and, as she told us, she found it a fascinating, fair and fun process…

“The first thing that struck me was how well organised it all was, with Linsey Hunter, the Events’ Manager at The Herald, playing the central role in ensuring all the judges received the entries and returned their scores on time.  We then met up to discuss and debate where there were close decisions to be made and while (naturally) not everyone will agree with us, we believe we have selected an outstanding group of winners from what were an equally outstanding group of entries in every category.

“It was great to see so many digital innovations coming out of Scotland and I was also taken by the breadth of different organisations who submitted entries, from charities and public sector bodies to large-scale digital marketing agencies, automotive firms, e-commerce businesses and inspiring start-ups.

“Be-IT is a major sponsor of the event and we have also, for the second year in a row, sponsored the Diversity category. Obviously, I’m not allowed to tell you who the winner is, but I am sure you’ll agree, once you find out, that they are very deserving of the honour.

“I know from last year’s event that it is a fun evening and a chance to rub shoulders with industry leaders and influencers while getting outside the odd glass of wine and a rather splendid dinner. However, for Be-IT it’s not just a question of networking. We firmly believe that events such as The Herald’s Digital Transformation Awards give us the opportunity to give something back to Scotland’s IT community and to support the clients (and others) who support us.   In particular, we are keen to sponsor the Digital Diversity category because we recognise that widening equality of opportunity is vital if the tech industry is to meet its current and future workforce requirements, especially given how tight the IT job market is at present. DEI is – rightly – at the forefront of so many organisations’ recruitment strategies and anything that helps improve inclusion and fairness is to be applauded.”
