Automation Engineer
Location: Preston (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £52,000 (based on experience)
Our client, a rapidly growing MSP, is looking for an Automation Engineer to support their environment. This is a new, internally focused role where you’ll design, build, and optimise automation and improve operational efficiency.
This would be a great move into a role where you build solutions rather than close tickets.
The Role
You’ll act as the technical owner of automation, working closely with leadership to identify inefficiencies and deliver measurable improvements across tooling, monitoring, and workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and managing automation end-to-end
- Owning automation within N-Central RMM (policies, scripts, monitoring, workflows)
- Creating integrations across Halo PSA, Microsoft 365, Azure, and SOC tooling
- Developing scripts (primarily PowerShell) to remove manual processes
- Improving alerting, thresholds, and automated response for RMM and SOC
- Enhancing SOC alert triage through enrichment and routing
- Producing clear, structured documentation and automation standards

Essential:
- N-Central RMM
- PowerShell or similar scripting
- Microsoft 365 & Azure
- API / REST integrations

- Halo PSA
- SOC / NOC tooling
- Ansible or automation frameworks
- Power BI / reporting exposure
