We’re looking for a dynamic Site Reliability Engineering Lead to play a pivotal role in transforming and scaling our banking client’s digital infrastructure. In this senior role, you’ll lead the design and evolution of next‑generation platforms that power critical applications and data systems across the organisation.

You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, reliability, and strategy — ensuring our systems are secure, resilient, automated, and built to scale.

  • Glasgow – Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
  • Salary £69,000 - £95,000 + bonus, 10% non-contributory pension.

What You’ll Do

As an SRE Lead, you will:

Engineer & Optimise Infrastructure

  • Build, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure platforms.
  • Ensure reliability, availability, and performance through engineering best practices.
  • Select the right technologies to meet business and optimisation goals.

Lead Incident & Reliability Practices

  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify risks, and drive rapid resolution.
  • Reduce mean time to resolution through data-driven insights and structured post‑mortems.
  • Establish and uphold SLOs and SLIs to embed a culture of reliability excellence.

Champion Automation & Security

  • Design and implement automation to eliminate manual effort and improve efficiency.
  • Secure infrastructure from evolving threats through best‑in-class configuration and controls.

Collaborate & Influence

  • Partner with architects, product managers, and engineering teams to align on technical priorities.
  • Guide long-term technical direction and participate in multi-year strategic initiatives.
  • Foster cross-functional alignment through clear communication and a data-led approach.

Lead, Mentor & Elevate

Depending on whether your path is leadership or specialist:

  • People Leaders will inspire teams, develop capability, and create an environment where individuals thrive.
  • Subject Matter Experts will guide engineering direction, coach specialists, and shape solutions impacting long-term strategy.

Across both paths, you’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders, advise senior leaders, manage risk effectively, and contribute to the broader organisational strategy.
