We're supporting a unique Scottish organisation that plays a critical role within the agricultural and food supply sectors, delivering services that have a direct impact on industry across the UK.
As the organisation continues to invest in its cloud capabilities, we're looking for an experienced Engineer to take ownership of the Azure environment and help shape its future direction.
This is an opportunity to become the organisation's Azure subject matter expert, acting as the go-to technical authority for cloud infrastructure, automation, resilience and platform best practice.
You'll enjoy a high degree of autonomy, genuine technical ownership and the opportunity to influence cloud strategy, tooling and standards across the business.
This isn't a role where you'll be maintaining someone else's roadmap.
You'll be trusted to take ownership of the Azure platform, identify improvements, lead cloud initiatives and help the organisation make the most of its investment in Microsoft technologies.
You'll also work closely with specialist third-party partners who support areas such as security and compliance, allowing you to focus on what you do best: building, improving and operating a modern Azure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop the organisation's Microsoft Azure platform
- Design and implement scalable, resilient cloud solutions
- Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Support cloud networking, identity and platform operations
- Improve platform performance, reliability and resilience
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Act as the internal Azure SME, providing technical leadership and best practice guidance
- Work with internal stakeholders and external technology partners to deliver cloud improvements and strategic projects
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience working with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep or similar)
- Azure networking, compute, storage and identity experience
- Experience with Azure DevOps and automation tooling
- Knowledge of PowerShell, Azure CLI or similar scripting technologies
- Experience supporting and improving production cloud environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions
Why Join?
- Fully remote working
- Opportunity to become the Azure SME within the organisation
- Significant autonomy and ownership
- Influence over cloud strategy and future technical direction
- Greenfield improvement opportunities across the Azure estate
- Work on services that deliver genuine real-world impact
- Collaborative culture with strong support from external specialist partners
